Pool 2.0

We officially started Pool 2.0. The group used what we learned from 1.0 and started anew. The goal of this Pool is to build a 100 card Commander deck from only cards within the Pool.

This time around we decide to skip starting with a Commander deck and we began with a seal limited game. Sealed limited is just like our drafts, six booster packs of anything you wish to include in the Pool. Chaos is encouraged and welcomed, it makes the limited weeks so much more interesting. Similar to our rare drafting we decided out to the possible six rares from the sealed game we would include three to be rare drafted at the end of the night, allowing us to build some consistence for our Commander decks.

Just kicking off this experiment we have no clue how this will develop, how long it will take for us to build our Commander decks. What it has done for me is kept me from obsessing over cards to add to my Commander decks outside of the Pool. I’ve slowed down buying singles, I focus on buying seal product to include in the Pool. I like this, I need all the help I can get to not buy more cards.

I’m at the point where I want to tune up my Pool 1.0 Commander Deck and sell off everything else I got from Pool 1.0 and possible most of my other Commander Decks and singles. Over the pass 30 some odd years I’ve grown the collection, now it’s time to move on.
